We successfully held our first interactive roundtable discussion with the founders of three early-stage NewSpace startups currently raising on our platform - Yanni Barghouty from Cosmic Shielding Corporation, Jeremy Allam from Exo-Space, and Matt Villareal from Infinite Composites. We’re proud to have had our friends at The Orbital Index as our co-hosts and partners to make this event possible. Intentionally, we made the event a good ol’ Zoom meeting because it’s always good to see your beautiful faces.
. The conversation did not let us down. It began with an explanation of how the founders got to where they are now, which included answers from an F1 racing college club to a biomedical engineering degree. We explored in detail the tech of each of the companies, such as the problem of data latency on the Moon and Mars, the varying needs of radiation protection, and the scaling of linerless composite tanks. A few very cool Earth applications for space technology were sprinkled in throughout the discussion because, of course, #Space4Earth. There was even a very cute issuer bonding moment when they talked about a potential future collaboration 🖤.Finally, participants jumped in to ask some questions such as how decreasing launch costs would affect their businesses and what they thought were the most neglected yet important components of the growing space industry. Totally not biased, but our Q&A chat was unmatched. The discussion was extremely interactive with almost 80 people attending the full event live and many more tuning into the recording afterward. We’re excited to host more of these in the future so don’t worry if you missed it- the conversations are not over yet!
